ONE REPUBLIC, Summer 2017, & Relationship Thoughts

Y'all! I'm back... Sorry for the long break that I took between my last blog, but I've been extremely busy as you could probably tell by the title. But, my summer started back for me in May and obviously I'm just posting now about my summer so far, but we just got to the really good stuff now!

Wow, so July has been a month for me, y'all! I went to 3 concerts in the span of two weeks (FYI, One Republic was the BEST concert EVER), worked endlessly, and I am still in my two summer classes for college. It's all been a little overwhelming, but I would have never been able to get through it without... coffee. :)

Yes, my friends and I made it on the jumbo tron and we felt that it was an accomplishment, so obviously I'm going to mention it. <3

But, one of the reasons why my summer has been one of the best thus far is not only because of the excess money I'm spending on concert tickets and what not, but it's because the people in that picture make it worthwhile. They are my PEOPLE and I love them. Spending time with your absolute best friends is what makes life so fun and interesting. And that leads me into the next portion of this blog... Relationship advice and a couple thoughts I have on this topic.

1. I am young and unexperienced in life. I don't have many years until I will be paying bills and working 9 to 5 and spending my weekends at Ikea redecorating my kitchen because I'm unhappy with the wall color... but that's not the point. The point is that: Be young! Be wild and most importantly, be free! Spend your weekends (when you're not working) doing things that you never would've thought you'd do. Make a bonfire, go night-swimming, heck.. go to Target! (I do that) What I'm saying is that don't waste your time before settling because before you know it, you'll be in a relationship, then you'll be married, and so on and so forth. You get it!

2. Spend your time right now focusing on yourself. I have always been the person to give, give, and give, but there comes a time in your life when giving is blowing all your money and leaving you with nothing in return. So, it's okay to be selfish. It's okay to want something and go out and get it. Just like relationships, I always try to encourage young women like myself to understand the meaning of self-worth. Before you love anyone, you need to love yourself first.

3. Finally, take your time with love. Relationships will always have a special place in my heart and mind, but I've definitely fallen for someone too quickly before. I'm not going to say EVERYONE gets hurt by falling for someone instantly, but I've personally been on that end of the stick. Relationships are very important and that's why you should take your time when you commit yourself to someone. I've never been the person to tell someone "I love you" two months into the relationship, but, that's my idea behind it. If you are truly in love with someone, embrace them fully and cherish every single second that you have with that person. As said by Nicholas Sparks, "Love is like the wind, you can't see it but you can feel it."

Viv
